The 2024 Songwriting Competition is Open!
The 2024 Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival Songwriting Competition is open! This year we will be accepting original entries in two categories: 1. Traditional-style chanties/forebitters2. Modern/contemporary songs on maritime themes Songwriters may submit. one song (or two, but just one in each category). Songs will be judged on originality, quality of lyrics, and performance.
